Thank you to our shooters, volunteers and sponsors for another great Veterans’ Benefit Shoot! It takes all of our resources and the effort of so many volunteers to pull this day together in order to make this the success it has become – words cannot express the gratitude we share for all who help make this day possible.
On this Memorial Day weekend let us remember all of those who have served our country.
Sunday we held the 11th annual VNSP Veterans’ Benefit Shoot. The event was 100 bird sporting clays tournament followed by awards ceremony and barbeque. The weather cooperated and by noon it was sunny and 80 degrees! 110 participants gathered for a welcome, benediction and twenty-one gun salute before heading out for the tournament. It was great to see the turn-out that we had – individual shooters from our club and others, veteran teams, teams from Ilion Fish and Game, GHH in Albany, Salmon Creek team, corporate teams, a team from ClearPath for Vets, the list goes on and we thank all for coming out to support this great cause – our veterans! (Proceeds from this year’s benefit will be awarded to Clear Path for Veterans, a wonderful local veterans facility that is doing so much to help our veterans – from assistance with veterans benefits and programs to canine programs and cooking classes! Visit their facility, see them online at www.clearpath4vets.com)
A run down for our first 20 shooters is listed below, complete tournament results on www.scoringpro.com – Congratulations to our HOA, Gerald (Butch) Mitchell who shot a tournament first for us – with a score of 100!
